The company was founded in 1919 by Franz Torwegge and up to now, Torwegge has developed many machines and systems with a positive influence on the market.
For example the development of the Blockboard Core and Solid Lumber Panel Composers, the multi-purpose Double End Tenoner and the Trans Air Machine for the flooring industry, which revolutionized the production speeds in this industrial sector.
Since 2004 Torwegge has been a member of the Homag Group and has considerably modified its product portfolio within the course of the portfolio adjustment within the Group.
Product range
At present, mainly machines and plants for the production and processing of doors and frames, special Double End Tenoners as well as Lightweight and Compound Panel Machines are produced. Machines for the production of flooring and parquet are currently produced by the holding company Homag AG.
With regard to the Double End Tenoners the machines are used for the processing of different materials, such as for example solid wood as well as of gypsum panels up to cement fibre panels.
The product range for the door and frame processing includes machines for the processing of door leaves, here especially lock/hinge processing, as well as for the complete processing in the high performance classes. For the frame processing, Torwegge offers individual machines as well as complete lines meeting the different requirements for capacity and flexibility. Finally, the product portfolio for the door sector comprises automatic up to fully-automatic machines for the production of door leaves.
The market for lightweight and compound panel machines is continuously increasing. Compound panels include lightweight panels, but also the combination of different panel materials such as wooden materials, aluminium, metals but also glass and the coating with material sheets.
